That shortcut confuses rule-following with value creation\u2014and lies at the root of many of our problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dialexity.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-10.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"770\" height=\"626\" src=\"https:\/\/dialexity.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-10.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5003\" style=\"width:364px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dialexity.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-10.png 770w, https:\/\/dialexity.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-10-300x244.png 300w, https:\/\/dialexity.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-10-768x624.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Right<\/strong> usually means <em>fits a norm or rule<\/em>. <strong>Good<\/strong>, on the other hand, asks whether an action helps the <em>complementary parts of a living, multi-factor system<\/em> thrive.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>When we confuse the two, we try to govern <strong>complex reality<\/strong> with <strong>primitive rules<\/strong>. That\u2019s how we fool ourselves\u2014and how others fool us. In theory, there\u2019s no difference between theory and practice; in practice, there is. A rulebook can be perfectly consistent and still a poor fit for the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dialectically, <strong>Norms and Rules<\/strong> are good only insofar as they <strong>complement<\/strong> our ability to learn and grow. Likewise, any <strong>technology<\/strong> is only good as long as it <em>complements<\/em> the versatility and sustainability we had before it. Otherwise, it turns <strong>Bad<\/strong>. (See <a href=\"https:\/\/dialexity.com\/blog\/time-for-new-definitions-of-good-and-bad\/\">Redefining Good and Bad<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In general: <strong>Right becomes Bad<\/strong> when it neglects the <em>positive side of being Wrong<\/em>\u2014humility, curiosity, and the capacity to grow. <strong>Wrong becomes Good<\/strong> when it acknowledges the <em>positive side of being Right<\/em>\u2014clarity and simplicity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Embrace the Wrong to find the Right, and avoid the Right who avoids the Wrong.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>When we ignore this balance, we create a hell\u2014<strong>a world where everyone is \u201cRight,\u201d but nothing is Good.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dialexity.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-17.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"501\" src=\"https:\/\/dialexity.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-17-1024x501.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6578\" style=\"width:252px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dialexity.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-17-1024x501.png 1024w, https:\/\/dialexity.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-17-300x147.png 300w, https:\/\/dialexity.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-17-768x375.png 768w, https:\/\/dialexity.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-17.png 1209w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cSo where is justice?\u201d \u2014 asked the granddaughter.<br>\u201cIn hell,\u201d \u2014 replied the grandmother.<br>\u201cAnd what is in heaven?\u201d \u2014 the girl wondered.<br>\u201cIn heaven,\u201d \u2014 the grandmother smiled, \u201cthere is love.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This dialectic even shows up in arithmetic.<br>Mathematically, <strong>1 + 1 = 2<\/strong> is <em>Right<\/em> because it follows the rule. But in real life, <strong>1 + 1 = 2<\/strong> can be <em>Bad<\/em>, because it implies no synergy\u2014no collaboration.
