Smooth Transitions

All feelings of the Atlas change smoothly in all directions. Radial movement corresponds to continuous unification or separation of opposite energies, whereas axial movement corresponds to natural rhythms (see Feelings’ Agitation). This can be used for achieving at least two practical goals.

First, a better understanding of any cell’s “intrinsic” meaning, as it represents an average meaning of all surrounding cells. Understanding the meaning of any given cell sheds the light on its neighbors, and understanding the meaning of several neighbors sheds the light on the central cell (see Markings of Cells)

Second, a better understanding of our own desires, as a result of extrapolating our feelings from the edge towards the center of the Atlas. The intrinsic meaning of yellow cells is difficult to explain by usual words, but can be grasped intuitively through extrapolating the (less subtle) meanings of other cells
